Summer Vacation!

August25

I hope everyone has been having a great summer.  Regular posts will resume in September, including several about the National Flute Association’s Annual Convention, which had the bulk of my attention for the month of August.

As we begin a new school year, I’d love to hear what kinds of things you’ll be working on in the upcoming months, and if there are any particular issues you’d like to hear about on this site.  Please leave a comment!

Your workshop really energized me about getting back into a routine and some future possibilities. Thanks again!

P.S. Maybe I’ll see you contra dancing sometime.

Jeffri-how great to hear from you, and that our workshop was energizing. Your blog looks really interesting too–nice to hear from an adult amateur. I’ll keep an eye on it, and one out for you at dances!

Zara, your workshop was one of the best things I attended at the Convention: refreshing, creative, fun and inspiring. I am experimenting with dancing with my own flute! So glad to have met you.

Wayla, it was great to have you there–thanks for participating. Let me know how the dancing with your flute goes!

I stumbled upon your blog by chance today and have so enjoyed my first visit. Will definitely be back soon! Look forward to more posts when you are back from your break. Hz

    Dito for everything Hz said.
I found your blog after more or less desperately searching the internet for methods against my hurting hand. I just started preparing for university auditions next year and play more than I’ve ever had before in my life.
I found your blog higly informative and I’m pretty sure that I’ll have a closer look on everything that you wrote here. Til now I’ll just hope that your physical warm ups will help me!

I hope the warm-ups help you too. Also, if you’re playing more than you have before, make sure you take lots of breaks–and if you hand is still hurting, get it checked out by a doctor.
